Governor’s Health Equity Council recommendations closely align with Wisconsin Cancer Plan priorities

In March 2019, Gov. Tony Evers established the Governor’s Health Equity Council (GHEC) to address the various factors that exacerbate health disparities by creating a comprehensive plan to achieve long-lasting and equitable health outcomes for all Wisconsinites.

The GHEC recently released their recommendations in an Executive Summary. Many of their strategies closely align with the priorities of the Wisconsin Cancer Plan 2020-2030, especially around areas of workforce developmentincreasing access to quality health care, and improving health data across Wisconsin. Explore the GHEC report and the Wisconsin Cancer Plan for actions to advance health equity in your community.

The Wisconsin Cancer Collaborative would like to thank members Gale Johnson, Diane Erickson, and Maria Barker for your service on the Governor’s Health Equity Council!
