County Health Rankings & Roadmaps Releases WI Health Gaps Report

The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program recently released the WI Health Gaps Report, highlighting the differences in health outcomes between counties. Specific to cancer, the report shares that if all Wisconsin residents had a fair chance to be healthy, there could be:

  • 188,000 fewer adult smokers
  • 96,000 fewer adults who are obese
  • 139,000 fewer adults who drink excessively
  • 101,000 fewer people who are uninsured

The report also includes examples of evidence-based strategies to improve the differences in health outcomes, many of which are also included in the WI Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2015-2020.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) collaborates with the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute (UWPHI) to bring this program to cities, counties, and states across the nation. Visit the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps website at www.countyhealthrankings.org to learn more about the Rankings, the health gaps for each state, and how you can take action in your community.
