“Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and Health Reform: What’s Next at the Federal Level and in Wisconsin?” – Livestream Opportunity

New federal leadership brings with it plans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and make substantial changes to Medicaid. The UW School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Population Health Sciences is hosting a seminar on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 12 p.m. on the future of the ACA and Medicaid nationally and in Wisconsin. The seminar will be presented by Donna Friedsam, MPH, Distinguished Researcher and Health Policy Programs Director at the UW Population Health Institute. WI Cancer Council members are invited to view the seminar via live stream. The recording of the seminar will also be available here.

Both the ACA and Medicaid have had significant impacts in the cancer community and to specific priorities of the Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan in the areas of prevention, screening, and treatment. The WI Comprehensive Cancer Control Program is monitoring proposed changes to these programs as they relate to the WI CCC Plan and will provide updates as more information is available. If you have questions, feel free to contact Courtney Harris, WI CCC Program Policy Coordinator, at [email protected] or 608-262-7285.
