Quality cancer data is central to the nation’s fight against cancer, and cancer registrars are the first link in identifying that data. The work that cancer registrars do provides answers to important questions, everything from how doctors determine what cancer treatments are the most effective to how public health officials learn where clusters of cancer diagnoses are located.
National Cancer Registrars Week provides an opportunity to acknowledge the critical role cancer registrars play in capturing the data that informs cancer research, prevention and treatment programs. The Wisconsin Cancer Council and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker wish to acknowledge and thank the many cancer registrars in Wisconsin for their commitment to reducing the burden of cancer among Wisconsin residents.
