Mari Freiberg, MPH, is the CEO and Executive Director of Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers in Cashton, Wisconsin. Scenic Bluffs is a Community Health Center for rural communities. Scenic Bluffs Community Health Center’s work in cancer control is focused in both dental and medical departments. Regular health screenings, primary care treatment, and health education opportunities are offered. Through the Wisconsin Cancer Council, Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers discovered research on the low rates of mammography among rural women. This reaffirmed the organization’s interest in bringing cancer support services and screenings to their own community. Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers now works with Gundersen to offer mobile mammography 4 times a year, bringing affordable healthcare close to home.
