Join Families Fighting Hereditary Cancer and their partner, Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center, for Cancer in our DNA. Let’s Talk About It! Community Forum on Saturday, September 20th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at ThriveOn King, 2153 N Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53212.
When it comes to hereditary cancer, knowledge is power!
This empowering community forum is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to proactively beat cancer before it has a chance to strike. Here’s what you can expect:
  • An interactive session on how genetic information helps guide early detection and prevention by Jenny Geurts, MS, CGC, Director of Genetics Counseling at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
  • A healthy cooking demonstration with cancer survivor and chef, Amberlea Childs of Plant Joy.
  • An energizing line dancing exercise session led by cancer survivor, nurse, and line dance instructor, Angela Scott of Get Dance Waisted.
  • Inspiring personal stories from “Previvors”- (People with an inherited gene mutation that puts them at an increased risk of developing cancer), who took proactive steps to prevent the disease.
