Privacy Notice
The Wisconsin Cancer Collaborative (“WCC”) values the privacy of our members and users of this website. Therefore, it is important to us that you are informed of the ways we collect and/or use your information, and the steps taken to protect your privacy. By accessing this website, you agree to the terms of this notice.
This Privacy Notice is generally applicable to activities conducted by WCC that involve the processing of personal data. This notice provides a broad overview of the range of activities that require personal data processing and the approach to protecting privacy. We value the privacy of WCC members and users of this website, and strive to protect individual privacy by:
· informing individuals about our practices;
· collecting the minimum amount of personal data necessary for legitimate business purposes and legal compliance;
· limiting access to personal data to appropriate individuals;
· using appropriate physical and technical security measures to protect personal data;
· integrating privacy principles in the design of projects that involve the use of personal data.
Membership: When you become a member, we collect the following information in conjunction with your membership: your name, organization (if applicable), location, cancer focus, and contact. You have the option to display this information in our Member Directory, which is accessible to WCC, and other members. As a member, you may review and change your personal information by logging into the website and visiting your account profile. Every two years, WCC requires members to renew their membership and provide updated information as needed. The personal information from members who do not renew their membership is archived, and not available for members to view through our website.
Newsletters: WCC produces free electronic newsletters for members that provide cancer-related news and information to readers. To receive these newsletters, you must join as a member and provide your email address. The newsletters are also available to read without becoming a member by visiting the News page on our website. The newsletters contain links to cancer-related events and informational resources from third parties. The privacy policies of the third parties may differ from ours, and we do not assume responsibility for the content or practices of those parties.
Member Events Calendar: The WCC website features a Member Events Calendar that provides information on events hosted by our member organizations. Organizations contact WCC and request that their event be included on the calendar and provide a link to register as an attendee. The privacy policies of the member organizations may differ from ours, and we do not assume responsibility for the content or practices of those parties.
Event Registration: Each year we host public events that seek to inform participants on cancer-related topics and connect them with others working in the field. All members receive emails about these events with information about the events and registration. Interested attendees are required to register by providing their personal information including their name and email
address. The information collected from the registration form will be used to periodically email attendees with event details.
Surveys: WCC conducts periodic surveys to measure the quality and impact of events, request feedback on the program, and gather information on the responder’s type of organization and role. Responses to most questions are optional and answers are kept anonymous unless the responder requests WCC staff contact them, in which case, they are kept confidential. The information gathered from surveys is used to better understand the work of our members, and the needs of those they serve. No individual responses are provided to third parties, unless required by law.
Sharing Your Data with Third Parties: We may share your data with third parties who contract with WCC to help administer our operations. All our third-party service providers are required to take appropriate security measures to protect your data. We do not allow them to use your data for their own purposes. We permit them to process your data only for specified purposes in accordance with our instructions. We may also share your personal data with third parties to comply with any legal obligation. Other circumstances where we may need to share your personal data with third parties include where we have your consent, or when it is necessary to protect the health and safety of you or others. When your data is shared with third parties, we will seek to share only the necessary pertinent information.

You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of our website. Grants: WCC may provide financial support to organizations and members for cancer-related projects. Information about the organization and its project submitted through the WCC website is used for internal purposes only and is not provided to third parties, unless to comply with legal obligation.
Children Under 18: Our website may be used for educational purposes for all ages. However, children may not join as a member of WCC or provide personal information through the website. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have information from or about a child under 18, please contact us at [email protected].
Changes to our Privacy Notice: It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we manage our users’ personal information, we will notify our members. You are responsible for ensuring that we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address on your membership profile.
