Overview:
After this presentation, participants will understand the causes and signs of compassion fatigue and learn practical work-life balance strategies to prevent and treat compassion fatigue.
Target Audience:
Physicians, nurses, health educators, administrators, and support staff working with American Indian and/or Alaska Native communities.
Speaker Info:
Christy Tonel, MPH has been in the health care administration, community health, and wellness field for 15 years. She received her B.S. in Health Education at San Francisco State University with a minor in Women’s Health and pursued her Master’s in Public Health with a focus in Community Health Education at San Jose State University. The last seven years, she has worked with California Tribes and community health centers on public health and community development initiatives. Additionally, Ms. Tonel received her certification as a trauma informed yoga teacher and provides yoga classes to BIPOC communities recovering from trauma.
