CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report recently released a paper on the state Medicaid coverage for tobacco cessation treatments and barriers to coverage in the US from 2014-2015. In Wisconsin, 6 of 7 tobacco cessation medications are covered by state Medicaid, individual counseling is covered while group counseling varies by plan, and only co-payments were found to be a barrier to Medicaid coverage for tobacco cessation treatments.
