SUMMARY:Enhancing Capacity for Primary Care Research in Cancer Survivorship: A Workshop for Action
DESCRIPTION:Join the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Office of Cancer Survivorship (OCS) for a virtual event\, Enhancing Capacity for Primary Care Research in Cancer Survivorship: A Workshop for Action\, on February 28\, 2024\, to discuss research needs for addressing the intersection between primary care and cancer survivorship. \nThis meeting will explore actionable opportunities for impact that focus on the following three questions: \n\nWhat are the key challenges and facilitators influencing the development and implementation of research on primary care and survivorship?\nWhat are the most important gaps (research\, infrastructure\, and practice) that need to be addressed to advance science in this area?\nHow might collaboration across different research areas\, disciplines/roles\, and organizations create new opportunities for impact?\n\nIntended Audience\nThe intended audience for this workshop is researchers – including clinician researchers – at every career stage who focus on any aspect of the intersection between primary care and survivorship. \nWorkshop participants will be thought partners in dialogue\, rather than audience members or attendees. If you are interested in actively collaborating on specific projects\, participating in building a network/community\, or working with others to tackle cross-cutting issues beyond this upcoming meeting\, this workshop is for you.

SUMMARY:Enhancing Capacity for Primary Care Research in Cancer Survivorship: A Workshop for Action
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe National Cancer Institute (NCI) Office of Cancer Survivorship (OCS) is conducting a virtual event\, Enhancing Capacity for Primary Care Research in Cancer Survivorship: A Workshop for Action\, on February 28\, 2024\, to discuss research needs for addressing the intersection between primary care and cancer survivorship.  We recognize that it can be challenging to move a field forward; the purpose of this meeting is to explore actionable opportunities for impact that focus on the following three questions: \n\nWhat are the key challenges and facilitators influencing the development and implementation of research on primary care and survivorship?\nWhat are the most important gaps (research\, infrastructure\, and practice) that need to be addressed to advance science in this area?\nHow might collaboration across different research areas\, disciplines/roles\, and organizations create new opportunities for impact?\n\nThe workshop will begin with a discussion of specific topics that are essential to this area of work\, such as system-level interventions\, methods and measurement\, and mentoring. From this initial conversation we will build an ongoing agenda of critical topics to address together. A key outcome of this workshop will be the development of a community of practice to facilitate collaborations that span different research areas\, disciplines\, and organizations. We will close the workshop by considering our next steps together. \nIntended Audience\nThe intended audience for this workshop is researchers\, including clinician researchers\, at every career stage who focus on any aspect of the intersection between primary care and survivorship. Workshop participants will be thought partners in dialogue\, rather than audience members or attendees. If you are interested in actively collaborating on specific projects\, participating in building a network/community\, or working with others to tackle cross-cutting issues beyond this upcoming meeting\, this workshop is for you.
