SUMMARY:In-Between: Mental Health Care is a Top\, Unmet Need for Young Adult Cancer Survivors.
DESCRIPTION:As more and more young people are being diagnosed with and surviving cancer\, mental-health has become a top\, unmet need for Adolescent Young Adult (AYA) Survivors. In-Between explores bringing mind-body medicine and therapy together to connect young survivors with the whole-person care they need. \n  \nOur first event is on Saturday\, November 18th from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center at UW Milwaukee. This is a free event for AYA Survivors (currently aged 18 – 40) that includes a healthy brunch\, discussion\, peer support and guided mindfulness practice. I’ll be joined by my mentor and colleague Dr. Giselle Perez\, Associate Director of the AYA Cancer Program and AYA Research and the Mind Body Program for Cancer Survivors at Mass General Hospital. \n  \nRegistration and additional details can be found here: https://www.inbetweenaya.com \n  \nAll registered participants who attend the event will receive a 3 month subscription to the meditation app Headspace!  The event is being made possible with the generous support of the American Cancer Society\, Kohl’s and UWM Lubar Entrepreneurship Center.
